Oil and Water Macro

Long time, no post.. eh? I took these photos last night at the first Photography Club meeting of the semester.

In the first chunk of the photos below, you will see that the backgrounds lack much color. We were still figuring out how to situate the color in the back so it was visible, but not too much in focus. The photo below is ironically one of the first I took, because it is one of my favorites, even if it didn’t capture the color in the background.

This one is almost identical to the shot 2 down, but not.

This photo is a little too blurry for my liking, like most of the photos in this gallery, but I like the way it looks nevertheless.

See? I told you so.

This is one of the first photos that captured the color underneath a little. I wish it was less blurry, but the composition is still nice.

I think the photo below may be my favorite of the night. It may be because purple is my favorite color or because I like the composition. Either way, I love it and hope you do too.

This one is a bit blurry, but I like the way the bubble looks on the bottom left corner.

In the photos below, we used a bandana as the background color. These ones are a little blurry, but I think they turned out pretty nice still.

The two photos below look like lava lamps to me. Pretty cool, I think. It’s a tad frustrating there was no way to remove the words from the glass, but oh well. You’ll just have to forget it was an accident and remember instead that it is for visual effect.

In these, I switched the color of the bandana to a shirt of mine. I like how the blue looks, especially in comparison to the red.

The oil in the one below settled too much so it was less bubbly-looking, but I figured I’d take a picture of it anyways.

This is blurry, but the colors make the photo worth posting.

It looks like planets.

This one is blurry, but if it weren’t, I’d be glorious.

I like how the oil and light divides this photo.

These photos below look even more like planets.

I love this shot below. The composition and colors are great.

I love this shot below. Definitely one of my favorites, despite how blurry it is.

Well, this is it with the photos from photography club last night. Overall, I enjoyed trying out this new technique. It was a bit of a bummer when I went back to my room to see oil stained on my new shirt, but life goes on.

I hope you enjoy these shots!

Until next time,

Me
